I'm moving to BC

about

So many of our friends have moved out west, or are moving out west, it's gotten ridiculous. It's like the Mecca for Ontarians.

This song was about my roomate, and Adam from Analog Wry, Confusion Bolts, etc.

My roomate asks me if I can give him a lift to the bus station, as he's going to Toronto to hang out with a friend.
A day or two later he calls to say he's in Winnipeg, and on his way to British Columbia, and he's staying there, regardless of the fact that we had our university final exams the next week.
He also has no money, and no job. There's also a couple months left on our lease, and we don't have rent money. He tells us to sell or keep all his things (I still have his soldering iron and feel bad about it)

Adam moved to Winnipeg and has never been happier, go figure.

A couple months after we recorded this, our drummer Ben chased a girl to Alberta. Granted, she was a pretty sweet girl, but it was a drummer-bummer for us and kind of derailed the Decay until.. oh, about now.

lyrics

You need a change of pace of life direction and you think that
Moving out west will make you right so hitchhike to add effect
Hey now, it's not so bad, we've seen a lot together
And yeah we all get that you're just sorting things out
You need some space to roam a new life, your own
You think this town is slow the people weak the grass is old
Hey now, it's not so bad, we've done a lot together
Hell yeah, we all get down but, will Mountains really fix that?

Words you write describe you're doing great
Safe to assume, everything's the same
And years from now you'll say you wished you said goodbye
And years from now we're starting over we've got different lives
Each time you wake up the room is made up with the junk you bought
to replace what you left with us, for a second you thought
Is this real or is everything fucked?

We can cover these old walls but the shoulders to cry on
won't be there for you back home after you're gone

We've got fading memories. I can't take this man I'm hoping you're alright

People ask what you've been up to like we should know
Struggle for some excuse like we don't really talk, like we kind of
lost touch, like you don't write, when we ask you
Well we heard you're coming back will you stop in at the new place?
I'll say I wished you said goodbye, we're starting over
We're starting over

We've got fading memories. I can't take this man I'm hoping you're alright.
I'm alright
