Revelations

from This Month's Rent by The Decay

/

about

This is an old song and the lyrics are kind of stupid. I was watching too many post-apocalyptic movies and thought "it would be so cool if everything got destroyed, and it was just you and your loved ones, out in the world fending for survival. THAT's living. Not this sit on your couch bullshit .. People should be fighting mutants, that's what I want to do"

Post-apocalypse-type settings, I figure would be real polarizing. The camp that thinks God is punishing them, and the camp that thinks people are stupid and ruined everything. I'm in the latter.
The second half of the song is your usual anti-religion kind of swank. I'm not against worship, I just think people should worship each other, and human spirit in general over any kind of deity, which is why I mentioned I would die in the arms of a person, not in embrace of the lord.

"You need revelations?
I'm here.
I'm here. "

that if your God gives up on you (or is perceived to give up on you) then hell, I'll be there for you.

lyrics

I can feel your pain. Do you know. Do you suffer?
And you call out my name in the dark I can hear you
Fires burn on the east side 911 where's the silence
and up in flames it burns. It feels like we're already
dead. It feels like we're already dead. Open your eyes.
Open your eyes, open your eyes. It seems like we're
already dead. It feels like we're already dead.

This is not my life. This is not my life. I will die,
with my eyes open With my eyes open. In your arms.

Pestilence. War. Famine and Death. Good book was right on
time - sin receives it's divine right. Your gods and your
saints never came when the man at the switch turned the
end of days. I've seen the valley of the shadow of death
I've seen the fall of man.
And it seems like we're already dead. It feels like we're
already dead. Open your eyes. It feels like we're already
dead.

This is not my life. This is not my life. I will die,
with my eyes open With my eyes open. In your arms.

And I wanted to say that when I die my eyes are open
And I wanted to say, that you won't try to find me
Hell follows me. Hell follows me. Hell follows me.
My eyes are open.

We're alone. We're Alone. You. You and me.

I never looked to the sky above
I never asked for help from god
I know my actions are my own
And when I die I'll be alone
What are you afraid of
What are you waiting for
You need revelations?
I'm here.
I'm here.
